The new Linéo 10 bus line north of Toulouse has just been stopped
the whole new bus line north of Toulouse was taken on Tuesday. The mayors of the municipalities served were present. The Linéo 10 was set up by the transport company Tisseo
since August 29. The start of the line is at the metro stop B “La Vache” and its terminus is at the Fenouillet shopping center. It passes through the municipalities of Fenouillet, Saint-Alban, Fonbeauzard, Aucamville and Toulouse.
The 10th line of the Linéo network
This is the 10th Lineo bus line. It is a real structured network which is being built in Toulouse explains Jean-Michel Lattes, the president of Tisséo. “It really had to be put in place. For us to have a good service to this northern part. Since the first nine lines were put in place, public transport ridership has increased by around 30%. So we are on people who are reinterested in the bus. Because the offer changes, the offer becomes attractive.”
“When public transport performs well. The motorist asks himself the question of leaving his car aside” — , Jean-Luc Moudenc, Mayor of Toulouse and President of Toulouse Métropole
The north of Toulouse is a sector in full demographic development. It is therefore necessary to strengthen the public transport offer defended by the mayor of Toulouse and president of Toulouse Métropole, Jean-Luc Moudenc: “With each new line, we notice that there is an increase in traffic. Which shows that it corresponds to a real need. There, it was simply a question of taking into account this development in the north of Toulouse and allow those who live or work there to have regular access to public transport. The chosen one recognizes himself “that before the public transport offer was not adapted, not efficient enough, not frequent enough.”
Offering such an alternative also helps reduce cars in the city. “When public transport is efficient. Motorists ask themselves the question of leaving their car aside. With the increase in the cost of purchasing vehicles, fuel costs, I believe that today many our fellow citizens have asked themselves the question of public transport when they did not ask it before.”
Fenouillet, Saint-Alban, Fonbeauzard and Aucamville served
This new bus line serves the town of Aucamville in particular. Gaëlle, 20, a student in Toulouse, took it for the first time. To go to a job interview. “I’m a little too early. I didn’t expect him to go so fast.” The young woman left from the “La Vache” stop at the exit of metro B in Toulouse. Get off at the “Salvy” stop in Aucamville. She notices that it’s still much more convenient than before. “There were several buses to take, it was much longer.”
This bus line meets a real need of the inhabitants, assures Gérard André, the mayor of the town. “It’s an extremely important project. We are still a municipality of close to 10,000 inhabitants and today we had to have a bus with a high level of service.”
