While the strike movement does not weaken on the side of Total energies and D’Esso-ExxonMobilthe fuel shortage is beginning to affect many territories in France, including Toulouse and the Upper Garonne. Which causes streets of motorists in a few gas stations open, day and night.
Cans or other jerry cans are prohibited
In a press release sent at midday, Tuesday October 11, 2022, the Haute-Garonne prefecture indicates that it has taken the decision to prohibit the sale and purchase of fuel “packaged in cans”. A measure which takes effect immediately and which will be in force until Friday, October 14 inclusive.
“Like many departments, Haute-Garonne is affected by the lack of fuel availability at a number of service stations. In the department, a significant level of overconsumption of fuel is observed compared to usual levels. Thus, in order to limit this phenomenon of fuel storage and to allow the greatest number of motorists to refuel, Étienne Guyot, prefect of the Occitanie region, prefect of Haute-Garonne, prohibits the sale and purchase of fuel packaged in cans, from and now until Friday, October 14 inclusive”.
