NÎMES A very nice gift from the prefecture for the Pink Vests of the ZUP
Chloé Demeulenaere Deputy General Secretary of the Gard prefecture went to the Espace Diderot in the Valdegour district this morning to find out about the citizen intervention brigade of the “Pink Vests”. She did not come with empty hands.
Active on all fronts, Chloé Demeulenaere took part in a meeting of the “Pink Vests” at the Espace Diderot in Valdegour. Very attached to social values, she wanted to congratulate this collective of women created a few months ago, seated this Tuesday to discuss the subject of adolescence in the company of the association “Graine de France”. Thus, 17 women first started by presenting themselves in front of everyone, an exercise that enhanced a few moments of emotion, a way of gaining autonomy for their project.
This project is to organize an event in an autonomous way, over four days – including one of practice and two of theory -, by distributing the roles of each. To carry out this project, the Deputy Secretary General has provided herself with a little surprise: a check worth €30,000, awarded by the prefecture. A nice financial boost that delighted the members present. “Nîmes and Toulouse are the two experimental cities for the “Pink Vests”. This funding will help meet the needs in the territory. Lucky for Nîmes to have a good associative fabric”, says Chloé Demeulenaere, who seeks to promote the values of the Republic, living together and citizenship.
A group of women very attached to the social
Naïma Helal is one of the few dozen women committed daily to “Pink Vests”. This mother of four children is accompanied by the association for homework assistance. Very involved in the associative environment, she also helps young people in their future, by giving them the keys to open other doors: “These young people sometimes don’t know that you can reorient yourself or comment on doing so. They suited us so we are talking to them to help them,” she confides. One of his greatest pride, his daughter from the former Diderot college in the neighborhood, now in the second year of Prépa at Lycée Daudet. “I am very proud of my daughter” we explain, her eyes sparkling with joy.
After the realization of this event project, Chloé Demeulenaere has a dream. On July 14, National Day, the members of the collective sang La Marseillaise with great emotion, for the following year, she hopes that young people will do the same with them. A dream that may not be far from reality.
