Train accident north of Toulouse: 1500 inhabitants evacuated this morning, a crane in action on the rails
1,500 residents of the town of Lespinasse, north of Toulouse, had to leave their homes for the whole morning, this Sunday, for safety, following the collision between two freight trains on Wednesday October 5.
The inhabitants of the town of Lespinasse (Haute-Garonne) located within a radius of 600 meters around the train accident which occurred last Wednesday near the Lespinasse bridge which passes over the railway line have left their homes. They had until 9 a.m. before the area was completely cordoned off. The gendarmes and the municipal police ensure that no one is at home within the security perimeter.
From 8 a.m. this Sunday morning, the roads leading to the sector, such as the road to Paris, were closed to traffic.

Between 9 a.m. and around noon, the projected schedule, these inhabitants, around 1,500 people, can be accommodated in three places located in neighboring towns. They can go to:
- Gagnac-sur-Garonne : village hall: space Garonne, rue de Pessoles
- Bruguieres : blue gymnasium, René Albus sports complex, 1 allée P. De Coubertin
- St. Alban : Yves Montand room, 2 rue de Salgareda
During this time, the SNCF must carry out the delicate operation which consists in separating two trains of chemical products which collided. A giant crane is used for this. The start of the wagon lifting operation is scheduled for 11 a.m.
