Electricity in Luxembourg: The number of charging stations in companies is “moving slowly”
The deployment of electric charging stations in companies in Luxembourg “is certainly progressing, but not at the necessary pace”. This is the observation made by Jean-Paul Olinger, director of the Union of Luxembourg Companies (UEL).
The various actors questioned are not able to give figures on the number of terminals. Be that as it may, Gerry Wagner, spokesman for the House of Automobile, explains that “some (large) companies want to install terminals, but that they are often held back in their project by the very high costs (several hundred thousands of euros) and the impossibility of having the necessary electricity on their site”.
In relation to the costs, in July the State launched an aid scheme (see box) in favor of companies investing in charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. “To date, we have not yet had many requests for aid for axis 1 (SME) and axis 2 (first call for projects open to all companies) was in progress until the end of September. “, indicates the Ministry of the Economy. It still seems too early to be able to evaluate this new device. But we are seeing more and more interest from companies”.
