Bilbao Athletic opens with a victory in Lezama | Athletic
A goal from Goti in the second half does not quea Intercity and reinforcements to the subsidiary, which climbs positions in the table
A goal from the recently joined Mikel Goti, in the 71st minute, was exchanged this Sunday for Bilbao Athletic’s first victory in Lezama after knocking out UD Logroñés and Calahorra at home. A victory worked against the experienced Intercity, fought in a thousand battles with players of a certain entity, but who knew how to hold with more will and tenacity than preciousness. The subsidiary already has 10 gold points to boost themselves in this balanced First Federation to which they are acclimatizing sufficiently.

Three centrals come from Intercity, which is listed on the stock market and is aspiring to noble positions, although it has collapsed in the last three days. After a more than remarkable first half, Arostegi’s team had to apply defense in the second to end up on the familiar side of the Alicante team. The puppies managed the match time to beat their rival for chances and performance.
The subsidiary started with brio, spurred by the last victory in La Planilla. Luis Bilbao warned with a shot that cleared Manu Herrera and with a header from Mendibe. Pascual insisted with another shot to the side of the net at the start of the league. The team from Alicante did not even set foot in the red and white area in the first quarter of an hour, until they took a corner and Etxaniz’s goal was annulled for offside. Arostegi’s team harassed Manu Herrera’s goal. The Intercity stretched out coinciding with the calm installed after the electric start of the puppies.
Fallón in the last meters
The veteran of the visiting team managed to stop the stake more with an exchange of fouls that hindered the game. Adu Ares broke this dynamic by testing the hands of Manu Herrera, who almost swallowed a shot from Pascual by pressing him on the goalmouth. The reserve team deserved to open the scoring, although despite their dominance, they made mistakes in the execution of the last passes down the center aisle.
In the second act, in an exchange of blows, Padilla kicked down a clear chance for ex-rojiblanco Jon Etxaniz, the clearest of the Alicante team. Intercity pressed harder and stretched to put the young puppies in trouble, with Padilla very safe under the sticks. The game was muddled, with the flight hours of the footballers from Alicante protesting some actions of divided plays. Arostegi sneaked Goti and Cabo to increase the intensity upstairs. A final twist. A line followed, on a double occasion, precisely Mikel Goti beat Manu Herrera to put the rojiblancos ahead. The final stretch barely altered the plan of a Bilbao Athletic team that was forceful, unhurried and growing in a category in which many of its players were baptized.
