Toulouse. Frédéric Néré, in his studio, photo resists
Studio VH has been located at the end of rue Rivals for 10 years. Frédéric Néré, the photographer, does not want to let go of the shop but barely manages to survive from his job. Fortunately, the passion is still there and has been for a long time, even at almost 60 years old.
“Like all those of my generation, there is always the nostalgia for film with film development, enlarger printing, choosing the right paper, hands in the developer” he smiles, “it was the good old days of black and white. Today a good scan and the print are controlled by Photoshop or other software. You want grain? No problem. A print from a phone? That’s digital! walk and everyone finds themselves a photographer”.
Frédéric has always practiced photography, in his life before in Orléans where he was a camera assistant at FR3, he also covered weekends and weddings. Also, when it was necessary to consider a professional reorientation, it was only natural that he created his own shop dedicated to photography, Studio VH, when the digital shift and “uberization” were coming full force. , photography through smartphones.
Frédéric willingly admits it, passion makes you blind and, going against the grain of the times, he wanted to do ready-to-photograph and develop in the studio!
In his studio shop he can do everything, from identity photos to prints on paper or canvas up to 60 cm wide and mounting under a frame, but also personalized album and of course price on demand, portraits, family events…
Frédéric has no regrets and also recognizes the undeniable progress of digitization in the field of photography. He keeps smiling but still watery-eyed as he recalls the black and white photo he developed 35 years ago in his attic, that of his daughter, then 3 years old and who now sends him photos to be retouched in a minute…!
