Le Havre and Quevilly-Rouen easy, Caen tames Niort
The three Norman teams sign a 100% on the 11th day of Ligue 2. Victorious of Bastia, Le Havre is third, one point behind leader Bordeaux, while Caen joins the top 6 after its success against Niort. At the bottom of the ranking, Quevilly-Rouen is reassured.
The Norman clubs are celebrating this Saturday, on the occasion of the 11th day of Ligue 2. Starting with Le Havre, easy winner of Bastia at the Océane stadium (3-0). Largely dominating in chances and in possession, the Le Havre quickly dashed the hopes of the Corsicans by opening the scoring thanks to Gauthier Lloris, before Quentin Cornette doubled the lead at the half-hour mark.
The HAC festival continued after returning from the locker room, with captain Victor Lekhal’s fourth goal of the season. This victory, combined with the poor performance of Amiens, allows Le Havre (third) to point a small point behind Bordeaux, leader and who beat Metz in the afternoon.
The attack of Quevilly-Rouen was also at the party against Nîmes. In search of a reference match in a mixed start to the season, Olivier Échouafni’s players signed their third victory of the season (3-1). QRM was able to count on Louis Mafouta’s double to tame the Nîmes, a little more in the red after this new defeat. If Christophe Diedhiou had opened the way, his teammates did not tremble, despite the reduction in Malik Tchokounté’s score following a gross defensive error.
In D’Ornano, Caen took their time to get rid of a catchy Niort team despite a red lantern status (1-0). The Caennais found the opening just before the break on an acrobatic gesture from Godson Kyeremeh. Undefeated after scoring this season, Stade Malherbe held on despite a sluggish second act. This success, the fifth of the season, allows Caen to climb into the top 6.
