Evacuation of 1000 inhabitants north of Toulouse: roads prohibited in the sector this Sunday
As part of the evacuation of part of the town of Lespinasse this Sunday morning due to a collision between trains, roads will be cut in the area.
It is this Sunday morning October 9 that part of the town of Lespinasse, north of Toulouse, will be evacuated from 9 a.m. until around noon as part of a security perimeter. On October 4, two freight trains containing chemicals, including liquefied gas, collided on the tracks. The SNCF will use a crane on a wagon to separate the trains. An operation at “limited” risk, indicates the prefecture, but which imposes, for safety, the evacuation of 1,500 residents.
Roads in the area will also be closed to traffic. This concerns the metropolitan road M 820 (the road to Paris) and the M 63 which will be cut from 8 a.m.
The A 62 motorway remains open but exit N°11 is not recommended from 8 am.
Some regional trains will be canceled this Sunday. And national trains could experience delays.
The side canal to the Garonne is also concerned. The Fenouillet and Bordeneuve locks will be closed. Above all, all sporting activities on the banks will be prohibited.
