The head of state reminded that in these difficult days the world needs a strong Europe.
Radev mentions all the positives that the cabinet has made. Some of them are related to the price of gas, others to the reduced price of fuels. Developed with projects related to the Recovery and Resilience Plan, he reminded. The problem of winter road maintenance is being solved, the president adds.
It won’t be so scary to drive in the winter, he said.
The head of state says that he will provide the parliamentary parties with all the conditions under the Constitution, so that there is time for dialogue and talks to form a stable majority.
He pointed out that the result of the elections does not give an opportunity to easily form a coalition, but people expect dialogue, understanding, reason and finding common solutions and interests, because Bulgaria needs a functioning parliament and a stable government.
Regarding Schengen, Radev stated: “We and Romania can no longer be kept outside Schengen just because, 11 years after we have covered all the technical requirements, some of us have come up with additional criteria. Everyone loses from this. Bulgaria cannot show solidarity and invest huge resources to secure the border, and we encounter misunderstanding. You cannot treat Bulgarians as second category”.
