First youth league victory for Salzburg – sport.ORF.at
The Red Bull Salzburg U19 team clinched their first win in the third game of the current Youth League season on Wednesday. The “Young Bulls” beat Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 in Grödig and are now on five points after three games. The goals for the hosts were scored by Karim Konate (71st) and Tolgahan Sahin (90th).
“The lads got into the game superbly and created a lot of great chances in the first half. Due to the lack of efficiency, we made life difficult for ourselves. In the end, it was a well-deserved victory that gives us a lot of strength for the tasks ahead. We are proud of our team, who were able to reward themselves for their enormous effort with the first win of this year’s Youth League season,” said coach Fabio Ingolitsch.
The parallel game between Chelsea and AC Milan ended 1-1, leaving second-placed Salzburg in Group E just behind leaders Milan on goal difference, a goal difference.
