BVB, Leipzig and Salzburg can celebrate | UEFA Champions League
Dortmund take a big step towards the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League thanks to a eminent win in Seville on Matchday 3. Leipzig and Salzburg were also happy.

Group E
Salzburg 1-0 Dinamo Zagreb
Salzburg secured their first win of Group E thanks to a Noah Okafor penalty after Andreas Ulmer was brought down by Sadegh Moharrami in the penalty area; Okafor didn’t give Dominik Livaković a chance.

Chelsea 3-0 AC Milan
Chelsea celebrated their first Champions League win of the season and are back in contention in Group E. The visitors started strong but left Thiago Silva unmarked on three straight set pieces. His last chance saw his header fired, but Wesley Fofana was there on the rebound and put the ball ahead. Rade Krunić missed a great opportunity to equalize just before half-time, but that was about all Milan had to offer in attack. Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang headed in a Reece James cross to make it 2-0 before James added the third of his own to seal the point.

Leipzig – Celtic 3:1
Thanks to a brace from André Silva, the Bundesliga side introduces their first three points. Christopher Nkunku gave Leipzig the lead before Jota equalized.

Real Madrid – Shakhtar 2-1
Brazilian wingers Rodrygo and Vinícius Jr. scored in the opening half-hour to give Real Madrid their third win in three games. Oleksandr Zubkov’s stunning volley just before half-time brought Shakhtar back into play and the Ukrainians had some good moments in the second half too. But the defending champions kept their cool and now have a five-point lead in Group F.

Manchester City – Copenhagen 5:0
Erling Haaland’s first touch of the ball scored the first goal for Manchester City, who celebrated another comfortable home win. Haaland only scored after a pass from João Cancelo and later followed up with a second goal. He now has 28 goals in just 22 Champions League games. Copenhagen goalkeeper Kamil Grabara made for an outstanding game, parrying twelve shots on goal. His team was still outclassed. David Khocholava scored an own goal and Riyad Mahrez scored from the penalty spot after Haaland was substituted at half-time. Julián Álvarez scored to make it 5-0 after more assist from Jack Grealish.

Seville – Dortmund 1:4
Dortmund consolidated second in Group G thanks to an impressive win in Spain. Raphaël Guerreiro broke the spell early on and gave BVB the lead. Jude Bellingham and Karim Adeyemi made it 3-0 before the break. Shortly after the break, Youssef En-Nesyri scored the goal for Sevilla. But Julian Brandt restored the old gap with his goal and thus ensured the clear victory. Sevilla parted ways with their coach Julen Lopetegui after the party.

Juventus 3-1 Maccabi Haifa
Angel Di María was in superb form in Juventus’ first Group H win, contributing three assists. A brilliant pass against the Argentinian saved Adrien Rabiot’s opening goal in the 35th minute. He then set the stage for Dušan Vlahović, who overcame Joshua Cohen early in the second half. Din David gave the guests hope again with his goal in the closing stages. But Rabiot had the last word, heading in from a Di María corner.
11.10.: Maccabi Haifa – Juventus Turin (18:45)
Benfica 1-1 Paris
Benfica are still level on points with Paris after this draw. After a dream goal by Lionel Messi for the visitors, Danilo equalized with an own goal. Messi scored with an excellent flick from the edge of the box. After the break, both teams were looking for a win, but the two keeper Odisseas Vlachodimos and Gianluigi Donnarumma had an excellent evening and could not be beaten.
