President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that there are no reasons that could prevent the project of building a new fleet for Ukraine.
“And there is no reason for our project to build a new fleet for Ukraine to fail. We implement all the planned plans. Our goal is to create a full-fledged naval base for maintenance and construction in Ukraine,” the president said.
The head of state also noted that in Ukraine, the creation of a training center and a factory of the Baikar company, as well as a joint production of aircraft engines, is underway.
“Ukraine has always been and will become one of the centers of the military and aviation industry. I am proud to be able to say this word with absolute European confidence and justification based on the results of the 221st day of full-scale war against our state,” Zelenskyi said.
On October 2, the first Ada-class corvette for the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa, was launched in Turkey.
This anti-submarine corvette of the Ada Hetman Ivan Mazepa type, named by the president in August, will be the first ship of this class for the Ukrainian Navy.
As the Navy team said, the corvettes will be equipped with:
- short-range air defense complexes;
- modern combat control system;
- navigation;
- radar station;
- sonar for searching and identifying submarines;
- REB system
etc.
