π²πΉ Malta: Gaia Gambuzza to Junior Eurovision 2022
Gaia Gambuzza won the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 and will represent Malta in Junior Eurovision 2022 with the song “Diamonds in the Skies”.
Tonight the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 took place at the Rediffusion House in GwardamanΔ‘a. It was hosted by Ryan and Josmar Borg, who also hosted the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2022. During the show, there were performances by three former Maltese participants of the Junior Eurovision; Ike and Kaya (2021), Eliana Gomez Blanco (2019) and Gianluca Cilia (2017).
A total of 16 songs competed to be selected as the Maltese entry for Junior Eurovision 2022. The results of the final were decided by a jury (75%) and public voting (25%). Only the results of the top three songs were revealed.

Malta in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Malta debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and went on to win the contest twice. In 2013 with their return to the competition in Kyiv, Gaia Cauchi won the competition with “The Start”. She was the first winner of a Eurovision event for Malta. In 2015, Destiny Chukunyere won in Sofia, Bulgaria with the song “Not My Soul”. Malta finished last in the 2005 contest in Belgium and the 2019 edition in Poland.
