Portugal can spend 21 million on spending even from the US | Defense
The Ministry of National Defense has authorized the acquisition of purchases up to a maximum amount of 21 million euros to be purchased this year and between USA2025 and 2029, which it will buy from the US government.
The order, published this Friday in Republic Diary and signed on September 2 by the Minister of Defense, Helena Carreiras, authorizations “on September 2 for purchases of AIM-9X States” and added that they will be acquired “from the government of those of America”.
For this purchase, an aerial expenditure of up to 21 million euros was authorized “to be financed through the funds entered in the Military Programming Law – Air Force, for 2022 in the capacity ‘Offensive and Defensive Fighting’, and for 2025 the 2029, in the ‘War Reserves’ Capability”.
According to the document, which can be estimated at 2 maximum values up to 2, which can discriminate the maximum value of up to 2 million euros, for this year an expenditure with a maximum value of 2 million euros was authorized.
In the text, the purchase is justified by the fact that the Force has identified it “as essential” acquired this “within the scope of the program for the acquisition of operational weapons material for the F-16 MLU system”.
This Friday, three more orders were released regarding expenses with expenses with them, “a material for the acquisition of military systems for aircraft for electronic aircraft-16MLU”.
For these to acquire four “Radar systems Warning Receiver SPS-45(V)5” an expenditure of up to two million four hundred thousand euros was authorized, “without VAT included, to be financed in 2022 through the funds entered in the Military Programming Law (LPM)”.
For the Army, also through LPM funds, the purchase of anti-tank weapons was authorized up to a maximum of about ten million euros, which will be spent until 2027.
The acquisition of the equipment will be made through the agency of the Atlantic Alliance, a NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA).
A trip was also authorized through the acquisition of air systems for the Army, with a maximum value of 2.6 million euros, which will not have to be spent in 2025.

NSPA is a NATO logistics and procurement agency, which operates in several domains, including “air, land, maritime, cyber and space”, functioning as a ‘link’ between industry and countries.
