The Municipality of Pisa celebrates diplomats with 100 and praise
The Municipality of Pisa rewards the young excellence of the Pisan schools. Yesterday, Wednesday 28 September at the Museo delle Navi Antiche in Pisa, the award ceremony for the most deserving recent graduates was held, with the awarding of the recognition to the students of the city schools who achieved the mark of 100 and praise in the maturity exams of the school year 2021-22. To lead the appointment, organized by the school and educational policies of the Municipality of Pisa, the commissioner Sandra Munno who welcomed and delivered a certificate of merit and a prize to each student, 30 in all, in the presence of authorities, teachers, school managers and family members of the awarded children. The mayor of Pisa attended the ceremony Michele Contithe Rector of the University of Pisa, Paolo Mancarella and the director of the Museum of Ancient Ships, Andrea Camilli.
“I want to congratulate you – said the Mayor Accounts greeting students – for friends who have reached the important milestone of maturity. We wanted to reward the youngsters who are most committed and distinguished, because Pisa needs these excellences: we are a university city with an ancient tradition, with two schools of excellence and important research centers all over the world, a city that will allow you to continue an important university career. You must be proud of the results due to the school, but also of the great support that your families have and your not lacking. When the school, the teachers, the students, the families together represent a united and strong community, which helps in support of all the children, which helps each one to come out to the best of their abilities, the most important and beautiful results arrive, which like to share and celebrate on behalf of the whole city. “
“It is always a great emotion – said the commissioner Munno – deliver these awards today to the young people who represent the young excellences of our city, young people who firmly believe in what they do and put all their passion into it. Three very hard years for you, marked first by the pandemic and then by the war, which, albeit far away, also saw many children and families arriving in Pisa fleeing Ukraine. Our schools, with the solidarity of all of you students, are close to these young people to guarantee them hospitality and the right to study. They were difficult years but full of teachings, which have you to grow and strengthen in your determination and passion. Keep going and always believe in what you do. I thank the Rector of the University of Pisa Paolo Mancarella for his presence, the school administrators, the teachers, the families and the director of the Camilli Museum who generously hosted us. “
