It is located in the Danube valley, where the Isar meets the Danube, at the foot of the Bavarian Forest: Deggendorf is considered a shopping town for people from the Bavarian Forest, an up-and-coming university town, an attraction for dumpling connoisseurs and a place with a history of shipbuilding and start-up centers. But what is life really like there? Which topics move the people in Deggendorf? And what shapes the everyday life of the more than 34,000 #residents in this Lower Bavarian district town? From Monday, October 3rd, 2022, a ZDF team will be on site for 4 weeks to discover the diversity of Deggendorf and to get into conversation with its citizens.

ZDF #Reporter Christoph Wiesel, born in 1995, has been reporting at the ZDF #Landesstudio Bayern since January of this year. Previously, he worked for, among other things, the Heute Nachrichten, for the ZDF online news portal ZDFheute.de, works for Euronews and the German Press Agency. Christoph Wiesel may have studied Political Science and European Relations in Berlin, Paris, Munich and Geneva and completed his training at the IFP School of Journalism in Munich.
Noah Amshoff has been working as a cameraman and editor at the ZDF Landesstudio Bayern since 2020. From 2017 he had previously completed his training as a #media designer #picture and #sound at #ZDF.
For the first time in May 2018, a ZDF reporter team was present in a city for 4 weeks without interruption for the ZDF citizens’ project and took part in everyday life there. ZDF in Deggendorf is the 21st edition of this project. This year, ZDF teams were already in Friedrichshafen (May 2022) and in Bremerhaven (March April 2022) for 4 weeks. In 2021, ZDF was present in Hildesheim, Frankfurt an der Oder, Naumburg and Rureifel. In 2020, ZDF reported from Homburg, Hamburg-Finkenwerder, Rüdesheim, Kulmbach, Husum and Greifswald. In 2019 ZDF came in from Kaiserslautern, Altenburg, Wilhelmshaven, Weißwasser and Stendal. In 2018, ZDF was on site in Bottrop, Mannheim and Cottbus.
