Airbus puts items from an A380 up for auction in Toulouse
The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus is organizing an auction in Toulouse of 500 elements of an A380 operated by Emirates. Lamps, portholes and even a bar will be offered.
Auctions can sometimes offer nuggets. Here is one. The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus met at auction some 500 elements of an A380. The sale is organized by Maison Labarbe. It will be held in Toulouse and on the Internet from October 13 to 15, 2022.
“Airbus gives you the opportunity to own a genuine part of the A380the iconic legend that continues to sanction its extraordinary feat of engineering, technology and exceptional passenger experience,” the company announces.

It will be possible to acquire a wide variety of objects, such as lamps, portholes, rows of seats, a staircase leading to the cockpit, tanks, seats, the rescue rope in the cockpit, belts, the rescue axe, or even the toilet seat. Some pieces have been painted by contemporary artists to make unique works. But the object of all desires will certainly be the bar available in the business cabin.
Indeed, the objects offered during this auction come from the Airbus A380 MSN13 put into service in 2008 and operated by Emirates. This company offers a real bar to its passengers in Business class. The aircraft was dismantled by Tarmac Aerosave in 2021.
Airbus indicates that ” proceeds from this auction go to the Airbus Foundation to support charitable initiatives around the world by relying on an international network of employees, associations and other organizations supporting projects of general interest. Part of these profits will also be donated to the AIRitage association, which preserves aerospace heritage. »
