Young Graz arsonists also committed a break-in in Salzburg
After the arrest of two young arsonists and burglars in Graz last week, a fingerprint comparison follows to clarify a burglary in a Salzburg alpine hut in mid-March 2022. The young men (18 and 20) turned themselves in to the police after they had been publicly searched for, as the Styrian state police announced on Tuesday.
During the night of Saturday, September 17, the duo set fire to a garbage container and a refrigerated trailer in the Schloßbergplatz-Sackstrasse area. In the nearby Sporgasse, they tried to set fire to a pram and the main gas line of a residential building – fortunately without success. They are also said to be responsible for an attempted burglary in a house on Sporgasse and the break-in into the public toilet on Graz’s main square. They stole a small amount of coins. They were also responsible for two other robberies in the same night with loot of a single value.
Burglary during a ski trip
The two nuns from Graz also convicted the identification service and the taking of fingerprints of a burglary in St. Johann im Pongau, around 220 kilometers away. There they climbed into an alpine hut during a ski trip in mid-March this year.
The duo largely admitted the crimes, saying they committed them under the influence of alcohol and because they were “curious”. The previously blameless men now want to make up for the damage to property totaling around 30,000 euros. You have been reported.
