Szijjártó: The production volume of the Hungarian automobile industry increased by 13
After a 13 percent car growth in the first seven months of this year, the Hungarian industry reached HUF 6,600 billion in production value, and “there is also a real chance that despite the recessionary environment“we will reach HUF 10,000 billion – emphasized Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, on Tuesday in Győr, at the handover of the expanded tool factory of Audi Hungaria Zrt.
The head of the ministry pointed out that Hungary has clearly become the European stronghold of automotive modernization.
He added: in 2010, the production value of the sector in Hungary was HUF 3,600 billion, and last year it was HUF 9,300 billion. Today, 150,000 people work in the sector, and it has an export ratio of 90 percent, placing it in nineteenth place in the world automotive export ranking.
Germany is our country’s largest trading partner, last year the trade turnover increased to almost 60 billion euros, and looking at the data for the first half of this year, this yearwe can even surpass last year’s value” – He told.
German companies continue to form the largest investor community in Hungary, and around 300,000 Hungarians work for German companies
he added.
Péter Szijjártó said that the growth rate of the Hungarian economy was above 6 percent in the second quarter, which is largely due to the fact that during the economic crisis that occurred during the corona epidemic, the government decided not to support unemployment, but to prevent it.
Thus, the Hungarian economy has begun to grow and further investments are the guarantee of future growth for the investment program, he said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade reminded that
all of Europe in a “is threatened by the horror of a deep economic recession”, means the continent is facing a serious security crisis.
However, we Hungarians did not face challenges for the first time during the coronavirus epidemic, because “10-12 years ago we had to face various crisis situations“, he said, and then added that the common feature of these is that Hungary has always emerged stronger from these difficult situations.
For each questionwe gave a specifically Hungarian answer that deviates from the international mainstream and focuses on the enforcement of national interestsPéter Szijjártó emphasized.
He elaborated:
when the southern border “was under siege”, we built a fence, during the epidemic we did not wait for Western vaccines, but also bought Eastern ones, and during the economic crisis caused by the epidemic, one of the largest investment programs in the history of the Hungarian economy was launched.
The aim of the latter was that companies should not lay off their employees, but increase their capacities – they emphasize, noting that the results of the investment promotion program introduced during the epidemic are now really visible.
Péter Szijjártó also talks about the fact that the government supported the HUF 3.8 billion expansion of Audi Hungaria Zrt.’s tool factory with HUF 1.2 billion as part of the investment promotion program.
The development increased the production and logistics capacity by 6,300 square meters, i.e. the capacity of exclusive serial production increased by 30.
Alfons Dintner, the chairman of the director of Audi Hungaria Zrt., said that with the expansion of the tool factory, he is currently engaged in tool production, device and equipment production and exclusive production on 58,300 square meters.
The tool factory was founded in 2005 and is constantly expanding, currently employing 700 people. The production equipment and robots installed as part of the development will produce body parts for several Audi, Lamborghini and Bentley models in the hall.
