Pension reforms and employment regulations, the San Marino trade unions support a shift in times
San Marino Confederation of Labor, Democratic Confederation of San Marino Workers and San Marino Workers Union, with a letter sent this morning to the majority and opposition council group leaders and to all the members of the Great and General Council, have asked for an urgent meeting with the council groups draft laws “Reform of the social security system” and “Reform of the rules relating to employment”.
“With the government – explains the letter signed by the general secretaries of San Marino Confederation of Labor, Democratic Confederation of San Marino Workers and San Marino Workers’ Union – it was agreed to dedicate the month of October to carry out further analyzes of the proposed amendments and additions requested by us, following the discussion at first reading. Instead, even if the official status is still missing, the Council Commission would be convened to approve the pension reform in the days from 4 to 7 October, while the following week the special Commission for the reform of employment rules is expected. If the two reforms are subjected to this acceleration of times, it would be a real authoritarian blitz“.
The meeting requested by Csdl, Cdls and Usl “is aimed at a postponement of the times of this process to allow the necessary comparison to be carried out on the proposals presented by the trade unions in order to address and resolve the various critical issues present in the two legislative interventions and to prepare texts that can obtain substantial sharing “.
“It is not possible – continues the letter to the council groups – to carry out reforms of this magnitude, decisive for the conditions and the level of rights of workers and pensioners, without having carried out a thorough discussion with the trade unions and sought the widest possible agreements . At the same time, the meeting can also be an opportunity to enter into the merits of the positions and proposals for integration and modification put forward by the trade unions ”.
The three trade union organizations therefore “took the opportunity to inform the councilors that on the two bills, which one first act of a mobilization phase launched in recent days, a calendar of 8 inter-category zonal assemblies has been organized that will involve workers from all sectors and extended to retirees, which will start on Tuesday 11 October and run until Monday 17 October “. The union “therefore remains awaiting a timely call for the required meeting”.
