Former Man Utd goal makes outrageous volley against Sweden
Benjamin Sesko was linked with Manchester United at every turn this summer.
In a busy few weeks that saw Erik ten Hag bag the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Antony and Casemiro, the Red Devils rarely went more than a couple of days without being linked with one of the continent’s finest young talents.
That’s because Sesko really looks like the fifteen millionth prodigy to work his way through the Red Bull ranks, following in the footsteps of none other than Erling Braut Haaland.
The 19-year-old forward has only played the professional game for the past three seasons, but really started to turn heads over the 2021/22 campaign when he scored 11 goals in 37 appearances for Salzburg.
But we recognize that the Austrian Bundesliga isn’t the most popular European league with casual audiences, so many of Sesko’s finest displays have inevitably flown under the radar.
But that doesn’t mean there haven’t been some enticing displays of his talent along the way, namely his stunning performance against Liverpool in a pre-season game last summer.
But if you thought the United goal looked impeccable on that particular outing, you’ll no doubt be licking your lips at the most high-profile display of his ability to date this week.
That’s because Sesko moved to four senior goals for the Slovenian senior team in stunning fashion on Tuesday night, scoring one of the most outrageous volleys you’ll see all season.
The Salzburg forward absolutely lit up the UEFA Nations League clash against Sweden in the 28th minute with the sort of thunderous first-time finish that Robin van Persie delivered in his prime.
So if there’s any doubt at all that Sesko really is the real deal, be sure to check out his jaw-dropping volley as it’s truly one of the best to emerge in 2022.

Bow, son, bow.
The craziest thing is that Sesko’s ridiculous impression of Marco van Basten’s legendary goal in the 1988 EC final was actually pinged by his supposedly weaker foot.
It’s one thing to catch a volley so sweet you pluck it out of the sky and have the keeper grab it out of thin air, but it’s quite another to achieve it all with the boot you wouldn’t normally use to shoot if you had the choice .
And while that stunning goal of course only showcases a very specific aspect of Sesko’s ability, you know you’re special when you can pull off something like that and everyone reacts by pointing out how typical of your talent it is.
However, United will have to wait a little longer if they want to resume their attempts to break that particular talent due to Sesko is already locked in to climb the Red Bull ladder next season.
That’s because the Slovenian sensation will cross the border and pull on the white and red of RB Leipzig for the 2023/24 campaign in a move that will no doubt strike fear into any Bundesliga defence.
What a view.
