Krajniak and Viskupič on possible solutions to energy crises
If the European energy crisis, which will also be solved for Slovakia, is not accepted by the end of September, the government will decide on the regulation of energy prices during October.
In the Thursday (September 22) talk show TV Joj On the edge announced Minister of Labor Milan Krajniak (We are a family). It is currently creating a legal framework for this with an amendment to the Act on Energy Emergency. Krajniak appreciated that the new Minister of Economy, Karel Hirman, is acting quickly and has their trust. They agreed with the chairman of the parliamentary finance committee Marián Viskupič (SaS) that the proposals of the European Union in connection with the energy crisis are not advantageous for Slovakia.
According to Krajniak, households will receive help with energy in several forms. The first is the price ceiling. “Either the EU will do it and solve it for us, or we will decide during October how we will regulate prices. We cannot promise that it will be the same as this year. But it will be such that you can do it,” he emphasized. minister. The government will also prepare monetary compensation for the socially weakest, the specific form is still being negotiated.
Viskupič sees in these steps the fulfillment of the road map, which was prepared by the former leadership of the Ministry of Economy headed by SaS leader Richard Sulík. Meanwhile, his party went into opposition. “I am very happy to hear that the government has finally taken what we have been saying for a long time,” declared Viskupič.
According to him, it is important that several departments were given tasks in solving the energy crisis. The Minister of Social Affairs is supposed to help the most vulnerable, while the Ministry of Finance has to find money in the budget. “These are all things I have to agree with. If only to set the right measurements,” emphasized the deputy. In this context, he announced the support of the liberals for government measures in the field of energy.
Krajniak added that the government is preparing additional aid for people most affected by high prices, which does not only concern energy. He reminded that they paid the first round of inflation aid until the end of August. “Inflationary aid for pensioners and other measures that will help all affected households by the end of the year will come to parliament in a shortened legislative procedure next week,” zoomed in.
According to the minister, help to pensioners will be in the form of the 14th pension paid in November, in the amount of 70 percent of the 13th pension. It was paid earlier in the year, in July. More than 200 million euros will be spent on this event. However, aid will also be prepared for other endangered population groups. “All this will be one-time help in hundreds of euros,” calculated Krajniak.
In this too, SaS supports the government, confirmed Viskupič. “Inflation is so great that pensioners need to be added. The setting will probably adjust, but we say that this makes sense,” evaluated. According to him, it would probably be the best solution to the system they have in the republic. If inflation there exceeds 5%, pensions will be valorized already within the year. In Slovakia, it is set once a year, always from January.
