A Republic to savor: agriculture, territory and (o) ultura!
With this claim the Republic of San Marino and the Terra di San Marino Consortium present to the public of Terra Madre, the taste fair organized in Turin by Slow Food Italy. There is a full program of events, tastings and experiences for visitors who will participate in Terra Madre and decide to visit the stand of the Republic of San Marino: guided tastings, traditional peasant recipes, essential oil distillation workshops, sensory analysis of honey , of grinding the wheat and then “hands on pasta: tagliatelle, piada, honey, strozzapreti, wines, cheeses and much more”. Today at 4 pm the program opened with a one-hour workshop on “Mani in pasta: bread making with mother yeast” organized by the Terra di San Marino Consortium for the presentation and knowledge of local flours and Mother Pasta, such as how to create it and how to use it for baking techniques. From 22 to 26 September, every day from 11.30 to 17.30 there will be meetings on the “Distillation of essential oils”, a laboratory for the knowledge of aromatic and medicinal plants where, thanks to a practical demonstration of current distillation, we will better understand how they are born freshly distilled essential oil and its aromatic water held by Flavio Benedettini President of the Cooperativa Olivicoltori Sammarinesi – Ghenea. On 24 and 25 September at 5.30 pm “2 chat with the San Marino Winery”, an olfactory tasting itinerary among the native vines of the area: Biancale, Moscato, Ribolla and Sangiovese with the staff of the San Marino Winery. On 23, 24 and 25 September at 3.30 pm “Di fiore in fiore” a sweet discovery of the local honeys: sulla, honeydew, wildflower, acacia and ivy with the Terra di San Marino Consortium and the San Marino Beekeeping Cooperative. On 25 and 26 September at 6.30 pm, “I nobili: bresaola and beyond”, bresaola and ragù tasting of the San Marino breeders cooperative with the experts of the San Marino Breeders Cooperative.
