Recently in the pink city, the competition for the best “Genuine Saucisse de Toulouse” took place, open to butchers from greater Occitania who wished to participate.
This competition was organized by the Toulouse sausage brotherhood in partnership with the association in charge of the “Bleu-blanc-coeur” label, with the aim of promoting a regional product recognized worldwide and offering a healthier breeding approach. for the food chain to improve.
Here are some examples of the main requirements that are required of the breeder through this charter: the use of fodder and seeds rich in omega-3, a balanced diet combining plant products recognized for their nutritional values, respect for health of animals and the environment, the assurance of traceability “from field to plate” and above all the prohibition of certain products and in particular palm oil.
The commune of Villemur-sur-Tarn was represented by the famous shop of Christian Lo Piccolo who, this year again, brought back the know-how of his establishment.
