According to Israeli officials, the deputy head of the Israeli Department for Europe and Asia Simona Halperin, who deals with the affairs of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, visited Kyiv with the Israeli delegation on September 7. They met with the special representative of Ukraine for the Middle East, Maksym Subh.
According to Israeli officials, a Ukrainian diplomat said that Ukraine wants to create a “dialogue channel” with Israel on Middle East issues to exchange information and intelligence and coordinate positions.
He added that this is especially important in connection with the growth of military cooperation between Iran and Russia, the publications of the interlocutors said.
Also, according to them, Subh emphasized that Ukraine opposes the lifting of sanctions against Iran in the event of the signing of the nuclear agreement, saying that this allows expanding military cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.
The newspaper writes that a high-ranking Ukrainian official confirmed that Simona Halperin met with Subh, who asked to find out about Iran’s participation in the war – mainly about Iranian drones.
“The Israelis have given us some information, but we need more,” the senior official said.
