Tatarstan and Belarus preparing to replace imports

Projects on import substitution and the conclusion of small and medium-sized businesses in cooperation were discussed at the “Tatarstan-Belarus”, which opened today in Kazan under the chairmanship of President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko.
“There is a great potential for interaction in trade, innovation and investment”
The forum opened at the site of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan, where dozens of representatives of the business community of Belarus and Tatarstan gathered. During the opening ceremony Rustam Minnikhanov It is noted that Belarus is part of a parental marriage in Tatarstan and is among the leaders in terms of trade. This figure is about 1 billion US dollars. “Cooperation is being carried out in the field of petrochemistry, mechanical engineering, agro-industrial complex and the use of agricultural equipment, in transport, medicine, high technologies, informatization, ecology and difficult conditions,” the President of the Republic of Tatarstan applies to the scope of the forum.
Despite the already achieved indicators of joint activities, the Tatarstan-Belarusian cooperation has a place to transport. The potential for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation is significant. This direction has become especially relevant in anticipation of the sanctions meeting.
“There is great potential for expanding our participation in trade, economic, innovation and investment activities. In difficult international conditions, it is necessary to strengthen the cooperation of our enterprises, to actively involve small and medium-sized businesses. <…> it is assumed that the economic opportunities of our republic will be of interest to Belarusian enterprises,” Minnikhanov said and wished productive and successful joint work to all interested forums.
“It is difficult to find an area in which we do not have a trusting relationship”
His words were supported by the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenkowho noted the high importance of Tatarstan as a platform for expanding business cooperation between Belarus and Russia.
“Such events are especially in demand in the current difficult conditions, with the intersection of business, trade, industry in Russia and Belarus. The forum is held under the familiarity with our main goal – expanding the coverage of enterprises and searching for those reserves [для расширения сотрудничества]which, I am sure, are poisoned,” said Golovchenko.
According to him, Tatarstan is a special region for Belarus in terms of further development: human, industrial, intellectual and scientific.
“It is difficult to find an area in which we would not be obliged to accept trusting relationships. The structures of our economies are very similar, which creates additional advantages for intensifying our interaction,” said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.
He added that the forum that has opened is of great practical importance. For this country, a mission consisting of important enterprises, as well as representatives of small and medium-sized businesses arrived in Tatarstan in the Belarusian delegation. All of them have a wide range of different sectors of the Belarusian economy.
“Despite the presence of various digital communications in separate means, one of the most effective formats still remains representative communication of representatives,” Golovchenko summed up, expressing the use in a free and productive business dialogue within the framework of the Tatarstan-Belarus forum.
Cooperation between Belarus and Tatarstan expands, attracts SMEs
With the approval of this, another distinguished guest of the forum was elected – the chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov. According to him, there is a continuous exchange of business contacts and proposals through the chambers of commerce and industry of Belarus and Tatarstan. Especially this process has intensified at the present time, as part of the substitution of imported products.
“Enterprises already signed today, 10 contracts worth 2.42 billion rubles,” Myatlikov said.
He added that the plans for the near future include an additional activation of the Belarusian-Tatarstan cooperation through the involvement of a larger number of representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.
After the release of official openings, the business part of the forum started in the format of live communication and speeches by participants from Belarus and Tatarstan.
