Colloquium debates sources for the social history of Portugal in the Tagus Bay

Specialists meeting this Friday at the Barreiro business park

The Industrial Museum of Baía do Tejo hosts this Friday, at 3 pm, the colloquium “Sources for the Social History of Portugal”, within the scope of the concept “Barreiro, The City of Archives”. The meeting, promoted by the Chamber and the Mélia de Mello Foundation (Amigável AM), recalls that the five undeniable archives that are in the place of implantation of life and of importance between the world, with the academy, the, the city, communicate and they move between the world and the people who live, with the academy, the, the city.

On this date, between 9:30 am and 7 pm, both the Administration of the Ports of Lisbon, Sesimbra and Setúbal (APLSS), as well as the Documentation Center of the aforementioned museum, the Ephemera Archive, the Memory Space and the FAM Archive, will be open to the scientific community, with “unique and unforgettable moments”, through a program with exhibition, colloquia, presentations and concerts.

The date, recalls the local authority, is part of the European Heritage Days, which take place on the 23rd, 24th and 25th, this year under the theme “Sustainable Heritage”.

According to this year’s programme, the exhibition “The Treasures of the Archives” can be visited, which is on display at the APLSS, with the remaining spaces in the business park open for visitation from 10 am. A guided tour follows to show, after lunchtime, the reference site of the Colóquio Museu, Teresa the collaborators of Álvaro Ferreira da Silva and collaborators of Álvaro Ferreira da Silva de Maced, Ana Alves Pereira de Macedo, Ana Alves Pereira Paulo Meireles.

At the end of the afternoon, visitors can also enjoy a concert by Fast Eddie Nelson, at Espaço Memória, at 18:00, followed by a SPA Sunset Archive Party, at Colectivo SPA, intended for the general public, with free admission and by filling this space.
