WYD opens Lisbon committee and debates communication in Fátima

The promise is that it will be a space for culture, friends, faith, study and vocation. At the end of the afternoon of this Thursday, 22 September, the headquarters of the Diocesan Organizing Committee (COD) of Lisbon, of the World Youth Day (WYD) 2023, will be inaugurated. of the Eucharist at 19:00, after which there will be a barbecue and entertainment.
COD Lisboa did not work on the ground floor of the same site where the Local Organizing Committee (COL, responsible for the entire organization of the WYD building), located at Rua do Grilo, 84, ao Beato, in Lisbon (the former ).
This COD headquarters will have extended opening hours: from a Saturday, between 10 am and midnight; on Sunday, from 3 pm to midnight.
“Here you will find space to spend time with friends, gather your youth group, pray, participate in activities, study or telework”, says an information note sent to 7MARGENS. At the premises of COD Lisboa, Mass will be celebrated every Thursday at 7 pm and on Sundays at 9 pm. A surprise is promised for the passage of a year 2022 and over a year it will be proposed in five areas, in pastoral partnership of the Vocation University Vocation, Cathesis and Family: faith, program, study, vocation and 20 sectors.

WYD will be the focus of the Social Communication Days, organized by the National Secretariat for Social Communications, of the Catholic Church, which take place this Thursday and Friday. The initiative takes place in Fátima, with the general theme “Communicate to WYD Lisbon 2023”.
An opening conference by the president of the WYD Foundation, Bishop Américo Aguiar and a roundtable with the Local Organizing Committee (COL) are scheduled for the first half of the afternoon. Afterwards, it will be a time to talk about the experiences, with the communication managers of Madrid 2011, Rio de Janeiro 2013 and Panama 2019.
On Friday, the theme will be “Communicating major events”, and will feature the morning speeches by Catarina Burnay, p.professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences (FCH) at the Catholic University, and Ana Alves, responsible for communication of WYD Lisbon 2023. The afternoon will be dedicated to three simultaneous workshops, guided by professors from Católica and dedicated to social networks (Patrícia Dias), digital marketing (André Casado) and alternative journalism projects (João Manuel Rocha).
