Sold out Nor mail-order halls, as Switzerland has booked the first pavilion ever
Nor-Shipping has confirmed that much of the exhibition space for the 2023 show is already booked, with Halls C and D almost sold out and bookings being “well ahead” of expectations.
Nor-Shipping 2023, taking place 6-9 June, is expected to build on the momentum of the 2022 event, which welcomed the shipping and marine industry back to Oslo and Lillestrøm for the first global industry gathering in over two years. Next year’s program will focus on the #PartnerShip theme, which according to Tereza Kjos, sales director at Nor-Shipping, seems to align with an industry looking to turn ambitious goals into reality.
Global Goals
“Trade shows are important platforms for generating business,” notes Kjos, “and Nor-Shipping is unique in that it brings together the full spectrum of ocean stakeholders in one place, with a clear focus on innovation and achieving future goals. We are adapting the exhibition space and program of activities to showcase and enable successful partnerships and I think this is a really attractive prospect for the most forward-thinking players in the industry.”
According to Kjos, country pavilions are both a clear expression of a willingness to work together and an engine for bookings, with leading nations such as Germany, Denmark, Korea, Turkey, Japan and Singapore being among the first to secure their spots. Switzerland is the latest addition to the fast-filling hall plans, which stake out the country’s first dedicated nor-shipping spot for exhibitors spanning segments from shipping services to future fuel technology to research institutions.
“This is a global industry,” adds Kjos, “so the more national pavilions we can offer, the better. It’s particularly gratifying when it’s a new nation that may have something different to offer than the more established shipping markets.”
to reach the energy
In addition to the exhibition halls, Nor-Shipping 2023 will offer an activity program that includes the C-Level Ocean Leadership Conference, Blue Talks, The Fourth International Autonomy Summit, AfterWork Social Schedule and more. Speakers and content themes are currently being developed and are constantly being refined to ensure the most relevant topics are addressed for an industry poised for sustained future success.
“It really does feel like things are coming together – and faster than expected considering the last Nor-Shipping was only in April,” comments Sidsel Norvik, Nor-Shipping Director. “In terms of the exhibition, much of this is thanks to the hard work of our excellent sales team led by Tereza and Odin Aadland, in addition to the fact that we have a strong international brand.
“I also have to say that the energy we have experienced at the last fairs, both in Norway and around the world, also shows how important these face-to-face platforms are for an industry that continues to a ‘people business’ is ‘. Here you meet the future. I can’t think of a stronger argument for participating.”
