The Marseille rap scene arrives at Rouen (Seine Maritime) Saturday September 24, 2022. Meet at the Zénith to applaud SCH.
“There are no betters, only guys who get by,” rapper SCH said in 2017. We can say that he is one of those who did rather well.
Absent from the bins since 2019, his album JVLIVSII has never been so eagerly awaited, and that is what recognizes the recognition of an artist. He has become influential and expected after having spent most of his time at the top of the Spotify France 2020 ranking. Thanks to his absolute artistic rigor, he has now become one of the main leaders of the bustling Marseille scene.
A unifying artist
“Long considered a pure soloist, locked in his own universe, SCH has changed status in recent months, becoming a unifying artist. Omnipresent on the albums of the headliners (Soolking, Naza, Rim’K, PLK, etc.), he marked the spirits of the whole of France by opening the tube Organized Gang with a verse now known to all, in particular the viral expression “Oui ma gâtée”. Convinced that unity is strength, he is today one of those who pull French rap up with his very strong artistic ambition and his obsession with performance, ”underlines his biographer.
A successful debut album
In 2015 came out the very first project of his career, A7. He then unanimously imposed himself among the classics of French rap. “The weight of a great classic is unfortunately difficult to bear. If it is a blessing for a young artist, it also turns into a curse when each of his later works is devalued in the game of comparisons with this first masterpiece”. So he had to come up with a disproportionate artistic subject: JVLIVS Volume 1in 2018. This album mixed rap with a blatant cinematic conception, a visual concept but also a record integrated like a feature film with a sophisticated aesthetic.

The second volume of JVLIVS always delivers an album between reality and fiction in which the world of organized crime remains predominant with scripted interludes allowing to highlight the French voice of Al Pacino. “The border between the character and his interpreter is still a little more questionable. The rapper relies on his fictional narrative to tell his story, while he takes his own experience as the basis for telling the story of his character.
In its construction, JVLIVS II recounts the social, spiritual and human elevation of SCH.
At the Zénith, avenue des Canadiens, at Grand-Quevilly, at 8 p.m.
Prices: from 40 to 55 Euros.
