More than 660 irregular Timorese in Portugal
The High Commissioner for Migration (ACM) found 7 men from 664 citizens living in Portugal, mostly sleeping on the street, in Lisbon, having already relocated 370 people.

According to Ana Catarina Mendes, since in July 76 Timorese citizens were found sleeping on the street, in Largo do Martim Moniz, in Lisbon, and, days later, in Beja and Serpa, as many others were living in undignified conditions, an inter-ministerial team was created. for these people, in addition to having sought solutions with local authorities.
He explained that this team serves to frame Timorese citizens in a more vulnerable situation and has as priority areas of intervention the search for decent housing, integration into the labor market, learning about supervision and information about rights.

He added that a new integration response was also created with the Support Center for Migrants of Beja, which involves a local housing strategy, through which the relocation of 110 Timorese citizens “in decent housing” was approved.
