Jérémie Moritz: “A Club Without a Name, to strengthen the French network in Milan”
Expatriate since 2016, Jérémie Moritz quickly became aware of the richness of the French network abroad and the need to strengthen it. And rather than waiting for chance to place French people from Italy on his way, he created with two entrepreneurial friends, Yan de Guardia and Nicolas Beauchesne, recently established in Milan after several years in New York like him, the Club Sans Last name.
The principle is simple: create moments of exchange around simple values but quite different from the usual networks intended for French-speaking leaders and founders present in the peninsula, to exchange around a good table. Created last year, the Club Sans Nom now brings together 40 members who come together with 15 or 20 people around a key subject.
On the occasion of the club’s return to school on September 22, meeting with its co-founder Jérémie Moritz, and also Global Consumer Engagement Director within the Campari group, who will host the meeting on the theme of spirits.
Why was Club Sans Nom created and what is its motto?
The CSN was created to fill a void in Milan, so that curious and passionate Francophones and Francophiles can meet around various themes, which can affect entrepreneurship, ecology or even finance. Two sessions have been hosted so far, one on deciphering Crypto Finance, the other on energy issues, while the next will focus on spirits.
Our core values revolve around authenticity and altruistic sharing, without special expectations. The objective is to create moments of discovery thanks to the members – all specialists in their field of activity – and always in a context and a friendly atmosphere. When the three of us were in New York, we had found this vital dynamic and energy. At this stage, Le Club Sans Nom is still anonymous because it aims to evaluate according to the contributions of its members. We can possibly baptize it in a second time all together, once its trajectory is well defined.
Who are these meetings for?
Any Francophone or Francophile who wishes to share a passion or bring someone who would share theirs is invited to join us. It is essential not to be passive and of course not to come only for the networking, even if this is not negligible. The number of places being limited for each session, we first favor people who have already participated but are also active, then we extend the invitations according to the capacity of the chosen place.
What does Club Sans Nom bring to its members?
We’ll create a monthly get-together where everyone gets excited about getting to know other members, learning new things and thinking about their future contribution. As I simply say, we leave less stupid and with new ideas. Often also, with a bottle of wine because we organize tastings at Winetip during the evening, which gives us the benefit of its space and a moment of education on Italian wines. You can’t change French culture and its famous delicacies!
How does Club Sans Nom position itself in relation to other networks already present in Italy?
There are several networks dedicated to French-speakers in Italy, notably associations, but we did not find anything on the CSN model.
We had desires shared with Nicolas and Yan. We have brought them together rather than subscribing to alternatives that are not very suited to our expectations. In addition, we also have Francophile Italian members, which makes it possible to further enrich the points of view.
How do I become a member of Club Sans Nom?
It is possible to contact us at [email protected] to share his motivations for joining the club, and we will respond. New members will be invited based on how full each session is. We thought about organizing the sessions in more spacious places in order to be able to accommodate more participants, even if the format of 15/20 people that we tested seems optimal for the exchanges.
