Covid-19: Population residing in Portugal with 95.8% immunity
The National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge refers, in a statement released this Thursday, that almost the entire population in Portugal has acquired the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge, reaching a 95.8% resident rate.
Data from the 4th phase of the National Covid-19 Serological Survey, carried out between September 27 and September 8, showed a 10% increase in immunity, compared to the 86.4% recorded in 2021 .
The results also indicate that the total seroprevalence “was higher in the age group between 20 and 29 years (98.6%) and in the North (96.8%), although the increases observed in all age groups have increased valence. over 20 years, including in the age group over 70 years, in which the estimated seroprevalence was 97.2%”, says the statement.
It is in children aged 10 years that the highest seroprevalence was observed: 76% between 0-4 years and 78-9% between 5-9 years.
In the age group under 20 years of health, “a greater increase in seroprevalence according to the Instituto Doutor Ricardo Jorge.
As between 50 and 59 years old are those who present levels of younger years, while the lowest levels were found in 11 years.
This indicates that “those who were vaccinated and who had a SARS-CoV-2 assessment remain as those with higher mail levels”, the statement reads.
The Algarve continues to be the region with the lowest seroprevalence (91.7%), “probably related to lower vaccination coverage”, and the North region as the one with the highest seroprevalence.
