Yes, it’s the truth… Athens and Nicosia support a pro-Turkish solution in Cyprus The time of nationals must… (video)

The candidates for the presidency of the Republic of Cyprus show a hesitation and they do not speak clearly and clearly about the type of solution to the Cyprus problem that they will seek, in the event that they win the presidential elections.
And it makes sense because the Cyprus issue is still a “minefield” today. In Greece, no one gives the slightest importance and the foreign powers that used to move to restart the negotiations, have also become comfortable with the occupation.
This is really a horrible reality, and everyone more or less has a responsibility, both those who ruled and those who try to rule the place.
The Cypriot politicians and their “party cousins” in Greece continue to support the arrangement drawn up by Henry Kissinger, the pro-Turkish solution of the Bi-Communal Federation.
- Only one of the candidates, Giorgos Kolokasidis, opposed it. At the same time, Turkey has moved towards other “solutions”, such as that of the two “states”, but we, in Nicosia and Athens, remain loyal to Dizoniki, even if it is not an arrangement that serves only the occupying power.
And today no one, neither the President, Nikos Anastasiadis, nor the candidates asking for the citizens’ vote, can think and propose something different. The Dizoniki was accepted by Makarios and apparently because the then President and Archbishop accepted it, nothing happens. They all followed the same path for 48 years, because – as is well known – what Makarios said was…”Gospel”.
And unfortunately, we are in a very unpleasant position, while we are a few months before the elections, the future of the island, the status of Hellenism in Cyprus, has not been discussed. The proposed solutions simply do not guarantee the continued presence of Greek Cypriots on the island. Unless everyone changes course, the Greeks of Cyprus will have the fate of the Greeks of Asia Minor.
Since Turkey abandoned the Kissinger solution, so must Nicosia and Athens. The “thinking” that we should insist on “what” the foreigners are asking for and supporting makes no sense, because it does not serve Greek interests and absolutely no strategy of Athens and Nicosia.
I know I’m looking for fleas in the straw, but we don’t talk about our problem either, if we don’t try, then hand over the keys to Turkey and admit our defeat.
In the past days, two well-known politicians, the former Speaker of the Parliament Dimitris Syllouris and the former AKEL MP, Tziovanis, appeared in court for the well-known case of the video of the Jazeera network, which shows them in very embarrassing moments.
Of course no one believes that they will be convicted, but personally I have confidence in the Cypriot Justice. Cyprus has good and honest judges.
But because on the island, as in Greece, everyone is protected by the laws they voted for, politicians are usually not convicted even if they are at the center of corruption scandals.
In Cyprus we are looking with the lantern of Diogenes to find politicians who are completely clean and in Greece, although things have somewhat improved in the corruption of the political system, something else has happened. Corruption dominates the state itself, the institutions. It has corroded the universe, as we believe an investigation now “running” by the journalistic group in which we are a part will prove.
- But why have I combined the solution of the Cyprus issue with the corruption of politicians? Because the politician who is blackmailed, precisely because of corruption, is extremely dangerous for his country.
- strange things happen in the negotiations from 1974 until today that cannot be justified otherwise. The corrupt politician cannot negotiate nationally and say “NO” to foreigners when they pressure him.
Defense armor, which is a victim of corruption, is also an issue. Because if half the stolen money was given for defense, we had airplanes and steamships, as the song says.
I suppose the campaign to collect money for defense through the post office and the levy with the purchase of this particular stamp is also an unpleasant case. How many millions were raised from 1974 to date. Uncountable. Were they given to strengthen the defense? I do not think so…
we have and say, therefore: Politicians in Greece and Cyprus support a solution that would dissolve the Cypriot state and surrender to the whims of Turkey. And they don’t dare to shout that they reject it because it is pro-Turkish.
This attitude of theirs is connected, in our opinion, with corruption. The corrupt are under constant blackmail.
And finally, because of the above, defensive armor is sacrificed as the money goes to anything other than the purchase of war hardware. On Friday, Senator Robert Menendez and Omogenia activists scored a major victory for the island: The arms embargo on Cyprus was lifted by a decision of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
This is a decision of enormous strategic importance. The world is divided in two and Cyprus decides to choose a camp: that of the West. At a time when Tayyip Erdogan is alienating Russia and China to the east.
But, under the conditions we have described, we should not expect impressive changes after the presidential elections in Cyprus. Unless, of course, Mr. Neofytou is elected – which is impossible at the moment – and grants the Turks what he himself promises from time to time…
POSTSCRIPT I: The bus of the presidential candidate, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, is nice, but something else is happening, which I don’t like at all, although I can’t think of a reason. I guess he is also approached by people who are not at all “pure”. And he must pay close attention to this because the citizens hope and it appears from the opinion polls that they want to make their “revolution”. All those who supposedly offer their “help” must pass through a sieve. The old corrupt political system would very much like to control him as well as the previous ones, in order to continue the feast in the event that Mr. Christodoulidis wins the elections. I see them circling him like vultures. These guys have no principles, no rules and are guided by money and nothing else… Yes, you have to watch out for the ex-Secretary of State thing. Because they seek to “bind” him pre-elections in order to continue draining the state post-elections…
POSTSCRIPT II: I really feel sorry for Mr. I Margariti Schina, the Commissioner of Greece in Brussels, who took on the dirty role to “exterminate” politically the opponents of the president of DISY, Averof Neophytou. Thus he brought the alleged penetration of Vladimir Putin into the political system of Cyprus aiming to control the outcome of the presidential elections.
Certainly, we should have no doubt that the minions of the authoritarian president of Russia will attempt – and fail – to overthrow the presidency of the Republic of Cyprus. But we disagree with Mr. Schina on the following: He threw his sledgehammer, didn’t say names, thought he would create panic, failed because we and others reacted, and then “don’t see him Panai”.
However, it was irreparably exposed, because important people, also in Greece, ask us what the poet Margaritis meant. And they mention a specific name of a Cypriot politician…
