From Cannes to Venice, films from international festivals premiering in Milan
Cinema Life, the event which brings a selection of films from Venice, Cannes and Locarno comes to a preview in Lombardy. The program to discover, from September 22 to 30.
Cannes, Venice and Locarno in Milan. For nine days, from September 22 to 30, a selection of 29 films from the three festivals will be shown in fifteen cinemas in the city in the presence of international invitations and with insights from journalists and critics.
From the 79th Venice Film Festival comes the Golden Lion All the beauty and bloodshed by Laura Poitras and Saint Omer by French filmmaker Alice Diop, who received the Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize (as well as the first film prize). Another film awarded at the Mostra and broadcast thanks to Cinema life : the Special Jury Prize no bear by Jafar Panahi. It will also be possible to see Cate Blanchett’s performance in TAR by Todd Field, winner of the Coppa Volpi for best actress.
Also on the program, the film awarded by the Europa Cinemas Label at the Days of Authors, Dirty Difficult Dangerous by Wissam Charaf and the Special Jury Prize Horizons bread and salt, by Damian Kocur. Also on the program are some of the Festival’s most anticipated films, such as The whale by Darren Aronofsky Call of God by Kim Ki-duk, When the waves have passed by Lav Diaz, Monica by Andrea Pallaoro and Other people’s children by Rebecca Zlotowski.
The Cannes Film Festival in Milan
At the 75th Cannes Film Festival, will be respectively presented holy spider of Ali Abbasi and Le buona stelle – Broker by Hirokazu Kore-eda, who respectively won the prize for best female and male interpretations. The rich panorama also includes five titles from the 75th Locarno Film Festival, including Julia Murat’s Pardo d’oro Regra 34 and the Special Jury Prize Gigi la loi by Alessandro Comodin.
