It was definitely one of the events of the weekend at Toulouse. The 5e French edition of the race Red Bull Soap Boxes brought together no less than 25,000 peopleSunday September 18, 2022, on the hill of Pech David.
48 crazy cars
48 crazier cars each other, from the four corners of France, gathered in joy and good humor.
The spectators took turns watching a egyptian sarcophagus ; UN barbecue and sausages ; a rolling birthday cake created from a mower frame or a “herd of sheep” crate made of real, freshly shorn wool whose smell marks the passage! Some had played the regional specialty card, such as the “Ariane&Space” rocket in a nod to Toulouse’s aeronautical expertise.
Stade Toulousain also had its own box in the shape of a rugby ball in the colors of the club!
Palmares
The participants were decided by a jury made up of several celebrities (Toulouse rappers Bigflo and Oli, Luc Alphand, and Sébastien Ogier).
In the end, the members of the “Sardinade” of Marseille (1 father, his 2 sons and 1 friend) took 1st place on the podium today… In 2e position, we find the “Serial partygoers” de Lille, who reproduced the recent nuptials of their friend in a perfect staging. At the 3e place, the Ariane&Space » brought honor to their city. Aeronautics students from IPSA Toulouse have smoked the bitumen with their rocket!
The prize for creativity goes to the incredible “Projective” and its box “Martian Attacks”,
a giant papier-mâché brain driven by 2 red-headed, green-skinned creatures.
The race will soon be broadcast on La Chaîne L’Equipe.
