Chroniclers threatened in Tuscany, summit in Florence with the presidents of Fnsi, Ast and Odg
The constitution of a unitary civil party in the trial for the harassment of Greta Beccaglia has been decided. Trade union and order of journalists have reaffirmed the will to proceed together with colleagues who end up in the crosshairs of those who want to hit the side of citizens to be informed.
The worrying situation of journalists in Tuscany, a region that in 2021 was in third place in the ranking of the Observatory of the Ministry of the Interior for attacks, threats and insults to those who provide information, was at the center of the meeting that took place today, September 19, 2022, in Florence, between the president of Fnsi, Giuseppe Giulietti, the president of the Tuscan Press Association, Sandro Bennucci and the president of the board of the Order of Journalists of Tuscany, Giampaolo Marchini.
The Fnsi, represented not only by the president, but also by the member of the executive council Paola Fichera, particularly appreciated the choice made in Tuscany to immediately report to the competent authorities any form of harassment or threats that not only have the objective of affecting freedom. of information, but also the right of citizens to be informed.
In this regard, the desire to proceed, always and in any case jointly, for the harassment suffered by my colleague Greta Beccaglia was reiterated, as already happened for Francesco Selvi against Beppe Grillo.
