Super League 1: Kazo Olympiakos in Thessaloniki and finally Korberan – Lost 2-1 with a reversal by Ari
Carlos Corberan’s team, now under a lot of pressure, took the lead with Giorgos Masoura (15′), but the Thessalonians pulled off a turnaround within four minutes!. Daniel Mancini (76′) and Luis Palma (80′) “signed” the victory in Alan Pardew’s debut on the “yellow” bench.
The first minutes were recognized for both teams. In the 15th minute, however, the “red and white” took the lead with Masoura. The opposition of the visitors was excellent, with the international Greek winger getting the assist from In-Beom Hwang for 0-1.
The home team, however, protested strongly for a foul on Manus Garthia at the start of the phase. Surprisingly, no other noteworthy phase was noted in the first half, despite the relatively good pace of the match.
Aris entered the replay more decisively. Andre Gray missed the diagonal left shot in the 47th minute, and Juan Iturbe’s two attempts (54th, 57th) were equally missed.
Hames missed the chance to score his first goal in Greece in the 64th minute when his attempted volley, after Masoura’s turn, went over Julian Questa’s posts.
And in the 76th minute it was 1-1, when Brian Dabo found Mancini with a long ball, the Argentine took advantage of Toma Vatslik’s bad exit, left behind Oleg Reabciuk and made it 1-1 in an empty net.
Before the home team’s celebrations stopped, the second goal came. Rafael Camacho duels with Usain Ba, the ball goes to Manu Garcia who turns it to the unguarded Palma for 2-1.
The “red-and-whites” then pressed suffocatingly, filled the Cuesta area, but apart from a shot by Cedric Bakabu in the closed corner of Cuesta, they did not make another phase.
2-1 remained until the end, with Aris getting an important victory, forcing them to this year’s first Olympic defeat in the league and leaving them -7 behind the pioneer Panathinaikos.
