Slovakia has its first skyscraper! Eurovea Tower height adjustment 150 meters
Construction work on the entire continuation of the EUROVEA complex under the baton of the developer J&T REAL ESTATE (JTRE) began at the end of 2019. At the beginning of 2020, four drilling rigs began to drill almost 1,400 piles in the construction pit, which are part of the construction foundation. The first of a total of 14 cranes grew subsequently in May. An important date for the skyscraper itself came in September 2020, when three days continuously concreted the base plate. It was going on at the same time testing the resistance of facades against extreme weather. The skyscraper then began to grow in height, with a new standard floor being added on average every 11 days after the completion of the base with its 15-meter V-shaped support columns.
At the beginning of this year, the rough building EUROVEA TOWER surpassed half of its final height, it broke the magical barrier of 100 meters at the end of March, and it became the tallest building in Slovakia in June of this year. In the next few days, the 17.4-meter-high crown of the skyscraper will begin to be assembled, which will be formed by 12 beams composed of two parts. The heaviest part of the crown weighs 4.7 tons. In October, it will be time to concretize the meter-thick ceiling slab on the highest, 45th apartment floor. The currently constructed floor shows a digital display on the climbing formwork. The progress of work on this exceptional building is also being followed documentarywhich was filmed by award-winning director Jaro Vojtek.
“The construction of Eurovea Tower and the entire continuation of Eurovea is progressing on schedule despite the current difficult situation on the construction market, thanks to the easiest preparation, high-quality project documentation and the professionals of all contractors. By the end of November, we should put the crown on the skyscraper and thus reach its highest point. We are already seeing a positive response to how the tower breaks up the hitherto monotonous panorama of buildings of almost the same height. After completion, its slender rounded silhouette will stand out and become a modern landmark of Bratislava.” says Pavel Pelikán, executive director of JTRE.
The first Slovak skyscraper will bring four hundred residences with practical layouts with high ceilings and a high-quality standard of equipment. Each residence has a terrace with an unobstructed, unrepeatable view of various parts of Bratislava. Residents will have an entrance hall with a reception at their disposal, and thanks to the transition to the shopping center with dry feet, I can buy and equip everything I need literally at a jump from the house. “Given the uniqueness of the project and the convenient location by the Danube, a few minutes from the historic center, there was great interest in living in the first Slovak skyscraper from the beginning. Almost 90 percent of the residences are sold. The remaining will receive bids along with the completion of construction,” explains Ivan Bratko, director of residential real estate sales at JTRE.
In addition to the skyscraper, the EUROVEA 2 project consists of the extension of the EUROVEA shopping center, RIVERSIDE residences, PRIBINOVA X, PRIBINOVA Y administrative buildings and underground garages. The construction within the EUROVEA CITY district near the Danube is also an extension of the waterfront promenade, the construction of Pribinova boulevard in preparation for the location of the body of the tram line and other new public spaces, playgrounds and sports. The southern square in front of the skyscraper with a direct view of the Danube will be enlivened by the new visual work Octahedral Body by Viktor Freš, which was selected by an expert jury from among 25 proposals by Czech and Slovak artists submitted to public tender. EUROVEA CITY thus becomes the heart of the modern center of Bratislava.
