Toulouse. TFH: ambition, but no pressure
Beaten outside during the 1st day and in the 1st round of the Coupe de France, the Toulousaines want to revive at home against Stella Saint-Maur, one of the big teams.
“Yes, as I announced during the summer preparation, this third game of the season is still a meeting without pressure.” Attention, Fabien Vedel, the TFH coach, is not insinuating that his troops will be in tourist mode, tomorrow afternoon, for the reception of the Stella Saint-Maur (at the top of the classification, but tied on points with five other teams). Inevitably, after a defeat at the opening of the championship, then another, last Saturday, in the Coupe de France, the Toulousaines (12th out of 14) want to obtain a first success. Nevertheless, they must keep a cool head.
“On the first day, we lost to Sambre-Avesnois, 3rd in D2 last season. Then we lost to Noisy-le-Grand in the Cup (a rival that TFH will find in the league, Ed). the Cup is not the priority of our season. As for this weekend, we face another big team which is one of the contenders for the rise. This is our first match at the Sports Palace and there should be have once again a great atmosphere. But it’s not an event in its own right either. As with every match, we want to scare everyone, “explains the technician.
“There is no reason to be worried”
And even in defeat, the coach finds positive. “If I come back to this Coupe de France match, we were less consistent than during the first day of the championship, with in particular the loss of balls. Our failed start to the match was the turning point. We lost this first round during the first ten minutes being 10 to 4. Despite everything, we know that we have the level to be in D2 and sign good performances with a view to maintaining. We come back, twice, to four lengths behind our opponents. girls could have given up. But on that level, among other things compared to what they achieved last season, I don’t worry anymore. The group has matured again. There is no no reason to be worried”, insists Fabien Vedel, whose key words are “serenity and determination”.
