The Slovak nation has a NEW ANTHEM: Everyone loves it… You won’t believe who is responsible for it!
“My Slovakia, my homeland, you are as beautiful as paradise. On your staff, the splendor of the throne, the grove rustles in the valley. They sang in your fields, our fathers worked. My Slovakia, my homeland, you are as beautiful as paradise,” is the notorious text of one of the most beautiful songs ever written in our country.
Its success is not only evidenced by the fact that it already has more than a million views, but also the fact that in the “Slovak Paradise” version it was a huge success abroad and became a great advertisement for Slovakia. Hats off to the act, the text of which celebrates our nation, also the Czech neighbors and the Poles.
“Perfection. Honestly, I don’t know if we Czechs have such a beautiful song dedicated directly to the Czech Republic (except for the anthem). I sincerely envy you this treasure.” one of the Czech fans wrote in the discussion, Slovaks, on the other hand, collectively agree that: “One day, sometime in the future… This will be the new Slovak anthem!”
The paradox is that the transformation of the folk song into a version where the love for our homeland, its traditions, history, but also elements of modernity is combined, is known to someone who you would say “didn’t even come around to music”. Behind a million views, tens of thousands of shares and people who spread the message about the “second anthem” of Slovakia in comments on social networks is a young IT guy.
The author of the new adaptation of the text of the anthemic folk song is a 34-year-old man named Martin Pechovský, who is a professional consultant in the IT world and precisely because he loves his homeland above all else, he called the adaptation of the song “Slovak Paradise”. The song was also played at the SNP celebrations in Banská Bystrica, and its revised new version was immediately liked by the war veterans to whom it was addressed.
Former Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegríni also shared it on his social networks. According to Martin, he said that: “he plays it whenever he’s sad or needs a kick from his work for Slovakia.” And apparently it was their love for Slovakia that locked them together and became the trigger for their cooperation.
A well-known IT expert and apparently also a talented musician headed into politics. After he left the post of chairman of Moje Slovensko, he eventually became a party colleague of Petr Pellegríni and intends to fight in the current municipal elections in Banská Bystrica with the support of local personalities, mayor Ján Nosko and other smart young people.
