Monaco wins at La Gauthière (59-43): AS Montferrand is missing for its great debut in NF2
The promoted Clermontois missed his league debut on Saturday evening in his room at La Gauthière. However, the winning basket of his captain, Andréa Charbonne, and the 3-0 on the “planchot” of the 1st minute, gave hope for another scenario than this initial defeat, on a fairly substantial gap (43-59). But AS Montferrand quickly got tangled up, and not just in “painting”!
The Clermontoises showed the will to play in dragster mode, but confused too much speed and haste to have a real offensive performance. So after 5 minutes of play, the Asemists were still stuck at this initial 3 points from Charbonne. Except that opposite, Monaco, even by spoiling so much, had begun to settle the sights a little (3-9).
This too messy game, combined with a lack of impact in the interior sector and a big deficit of skill; it could not please Jennifer Vignola, who recalled her 5 major on the bench for a first sermon (5-14, 7th). An effect ? Not immediately, the Monaco car split 11 margin points (7-18) at the end of the first quarter.

On the other hand, in the following, the ASM found at least more offensive solutions, failing to contain Monegasques with a more experienced collective game and superior experience. On the score, the locals sailed with a disbursement of ten points and reached the break with a minus 13 to go up (21-34).

There was still something better on the asemist side, in the commitment, the presence on the rebound and even in the scoring, like these award-winning shots returned by Fanny Rostaing, also precious for guiding the game. Little by little, the gap melted and was only 6 points (38-44), in the 29th.

Yes, ASM played better and won this 3rd quarter by sheer force (17-13). But it had cost him a lot of energy on both sides of the field. The “Yellow and Blue” had left too much gum in this battle to deprive the players of the Principality of a first victory. They end up squarely in the hard (being limited to 5 small points in the 4th quarter) and will have to react from next weekend in Carmaux.
