Kévin Vauquelin 2nd in the Tour of Luxembourg
Kevin VAUQUELIN
21 years old – 2nd in the general classification and 3rd in the last stage
“The final circuit did not encourage movement too much and the race scenario suited the formation of the leader. In the last lap of the circuit, Michel and Maxime did a good job to place me. Max met me in the best mood at the foot of the last bump just before Madouas launched his attack, I knew that was the wheel to follow. We had a good match with Skjelmose. This 2nd place in the general classification is more than satisfactory. From a collective point of view, on a good performance delivered and on a score of important points. Personally, I feel that I pass levels on the management of stage races as the weeks of competitions go by. The team gives me the chance to be a leader, to have great teammates around me and that gives me a lot of confidence for a first year as a professional. »

“It was a great week for us in Luxembourg. Today, we played the option of putting everything on the last lap to try to gain a position in the general standings. All day, the guys put Kevin in the best possible position to reassure him, protect him and position him well at the foot of the last hill. This 2nd place in the final general classification confirms the good work of the whole team and allows us to earn valuable UCI points for the end of the season. »
