FC Rouen launches its e-sports team which will play with the elite of FIFA 23

“We have been wanting to invest in the field of e-sport for some time now”, comments the FCR. A few months ago, precisely, two people from Rouen, Gauthier Dutertre and Dylan Stockley, contact the club. They are a group of friends, FIFA players, and they would like to structure a team by getting closer to a club.

“In the beginning, we mostly played for fun with friends. We saw that we had a good level. We said to ourselves that we were going to contact the FCR to represent our city, ”says Gauthier Dutertre, the team captain. Full skylight. The squad is currently composed of 17 players, with a planned rotation. “It’s always the best 11 who play,” notes the captain. Unlike other competitions on FIFA, where the match pits one player against another (each controlling the 11 players of his team), the Virtual Pro Gaming league takes place on the Club Pro mode of the video game. In other words, each competitor controls a player on the virtual field.
“There is a real notion of team play, where everyone must position themselves on the field and where each individual error can be costly,” says Gauthier. And to add: “We want to show that the FCR is at the top level. »
Matches will be streamed on Twitch
To keep the level and rub shoulders with the best, e-sport players are entitled to their training, “generally, sessions from Monday to Wednesday, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. “.
And as for competitive matches, there should be three a week, depending on the schedule. “We organize ourselves with the other teams to choose the dates together,” says Gauthier. The matches will be broadcast live on one of the players’ Twitch channel.
