Extensive power outage, near Toulouse: several districts affected in the city center of Colomiers

A major power outage is underway this Saturday, September 17, 2022 in several areas of downtown Colomiers (Haute-Garonne)after a incident on a high voltage line, announced in the afternoon, the town hall of Colomiers, second municipality of the metropolis of Toulouse. According to Enedis, the outage occurred around 12:45 p.m.
1,700 customers without electricity
“1,700 customers are concerned” by this major breakdown, according to the municipality, which adds that the Henri-Molina White Pavilion, the large media library and arts center located in the heart of the town, on the forecourt of the Town Hall, had to close its doors. “As a precaution, we prefer that you do not use the elevators of the Rouergue car parks and Lauragaisin the city center”, also specifies the town hall to its inhabitants.

A fault on the underground high voltage network, according to Enedis
Contacted by Toulouse news, Enedis explains the origin of the breakdown: “A fault was located at the beginning of the afternoon by the teams on an underground high-voltage network box, and more precisely “on a line at 20,000 volts”.
To restore the network, “work is needed, in particular earthworks”, specifies the manager of the electricity distribution network, who assures that “the current should be back in the evening”. For its part, the town hall says “that Enedis now announces recovery by 10 p.m. at the latest.
The operator knows that “customers have the possibility of following the evolution of the breakdown by entering their address in the application ‘Enedis by my side’, available on the various stores”.
