36th modeling exhibition in Florence at the start
It is the historic Florentine shop Dreoni Giocattoli which for over 50 years has paid tribute to the incomparable genius of Tuscan model makers. Also this year it will not be outdone and is already preparing the windows that will host the 36th Exhibition of Modeling in Florence. Set up for the first time in the autumn of 1971, the exhibition returns to its chosen season, at the great request of its passionate model makers who have always participated in it and those from outside the region who will take advantage of the contemporary with the FIRENZEGIOCA event ( Fortezza da Basso 24 and 25 September) to visit it: the fame of the exhibition, for its longevity and importance, counts it among the most popular modeling events in Italy.
The Modeling Exhibition, which sees the support of the Via Cavour merchants association, can be visited with free admission and officially opens on Sunday 18 September at 3:00 pm, in conjunction with the extraordinary opening of the Dreoni store. The models that the public will be able to admire will be exhibited in the large and bright windows of the shop, entirely dedicated to the exhibition for two weeks. The figures on display are many and will embrace the major modeling sectors, from the flat figure produced in Nuremberg and widespread in the eighteenth century, to naval and military modeling, to the self-construction of precious dioramas and battle scenarios.
The exhibition is not competitive and each participant, private or modeling club, exhibits their themed creations is free, thus helping to create a spectacular widespread museum that will thrill anyone, even children, given the high educational value and historical research present. in the models, as well as artistic.
The collaborations in the area are many and important, starting with that of the CCN in Via Cavour and the Association of Florentine Historical Exercises and the success of membership of the main modeling clubs is confirmed, with the direct support of the Historical Figure Museum of Calenzano. and, for the first time, the Pinocchio and Toy Museum which will set up a section dedicated to dollhouses and vintage dolls. A particular focus for this edition is dedicated to the legendary red from Maranello, with an entire shelf dedicated to Ferrari models.
To enhance the Florentine genius will be present, through their works, the miniaturists of the Florentine Plastimodellismo Group, the DLF Pontassieve Modeling and History Association, the Tuscan Navimodellists, the Fiorentina Battaglie in Scala Association (AFBIS), ModArT – Model Area Toscana, the Florentine Association of Research and Historical Reconstruction La Condotta, the I Tre Muschettieri modeling club. Also confirmed the support, to pay homage to the youngest and most promising model makers and to create introductory workshops to model making, of the Italeri-Pama Trade Group, a leading company in the sector that this year celebrates 60 years of activity.
During the opening hours of the shop all visitors can freely visit, contemplate and fall in love with toy soldiers, fantastic and historical characters, figures, models, ships, sailing ships, airplanes, cars, trains, self-constructions and all kinds of miniaturized works, of every invoice and scala, all made as unique models with infinite dedication by their authors.
