President: Lithuania and Poland are ready to strengthen cooperation in the field of defense
The President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas NausÄ—da met with the Prime Minister of Poland Mateuzs Morawiecki on Friday.
The President discussed with the Prime Minister the issues of strengthening regional security and energy prices, talked about further support for Ukraine and the necessary actions to stop the aggressor Russia.
“Despite the sanctions of the international community and losses on the battlefield, Russia continues its hostilities in Ukraine, as well as attacks on critical infrastructure and civilians. We have to provide military economic, financial and support to Ukraine, as well as take other measures, including sanctions, which would make it more difficult for the aggressor to continue the bloody war,” the President said.
According to the head of the country, strengthening NATO’s eastern flank remains a priority task for Lithuania and Poland.
“We need to strengthen the practical cooperation between our countries in the field of defense, it is possible to make joint decisions in the fields of coast guard and air defense,” the head of state emphasized.
