Balma. “Toulouse at the table!” put the cover back
In May, the first edition of the Balman food trucks evening was so successful that the association reproduced by Guy Pressenda, “Toulouse à table!”, decided to put the cover back on this Friday evening on the Place de la Liberation. From 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., 8 food trucks will be deployed on the vast esplanade, offering French specialties, but also American, African, Italian, Spanish… “We ask them to work with products that are more than 80% from the Occitanie region. Each food truck is contractually committed to it”, underline the organizers.
The first edition having met with a record crowd, the town hall promises to have even more tables on the main square, where the musical entertainment gives the spirit of a giant guinguette. Food trucks far removed from the cliché of the French fries stand of yesteryear, combined with professional facilities, for menus offered at an average price of €10.50.
Founded in 2014, “Toulouse à table!” has already gathered more than 326,000 visitors in the region during its evenings. Moreover, the association claims its eco-responsibility, claiming in particular to have used 7,100 meters of recycled tablecloths for the 261 events organized over the past 9 years.
