Venice, by Joshua Cohen and Jhumpa Lahiri: five meetings with writers at Ca ‘Foscari
The cycle restarts with a rich autumn program “Writers in conversation”organized by Ca ‘Foscari Venice, connected to the Incroci di civilization literary festival, to converse informally and face to face with writers, translators, journalists, artists, and to reflect with them on the great social and cultural issues of our time.
It will be the one to open the cycle Israeli writer Roy Chen, Thursday 15 September starting at 6 pm, in Tesa 2 in Ca ‘Foscari Zattere. Professor Dario Miccoli, an expert in Hebrew literature, will converse with him. The meeting will take place in Italian.
The second meeting is dedicated to the guest of excellence Joshua Cohen, winner of the 2022 Pulitzer Prize. It will take place on Thursday 22 September at 5.30 pm in the Aula Baratto, in English with consecutive translation. In dialogue with him Professor Shaul Bassi.
Joshua Cohen was born into a family of Jewish origin in Somers Point (USA) in 1980, but grew up in Atlantic City. As a young man he attended the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied composition, but never graduated.
The September 26 at 5.30 pm in the Morelli Room, Malcanton Marcorà, another American writer, Lauren Groff, will be present. in conversation with Gregory Dowling. The meeting will be in English with consecutive translation.
Tadej Golob will be a guest on September 29 starting at 5.30 pm in room B Ca ‘Bernardo, in conversation with Gregory Dowling and Marija Bradaš. The author will speak in English with consecutive translation by Patrizia Raveggi.
Last meeting for the autumn cycle will take place on October 5th at Ca ‘Dolfin, in the Aula Magna Silvio Trentin and will have as its protagonist the writer of Indian origin Jhumpa Lahiri. The meeting will be in Italian.
